where: knight concert hall - adrienne arsht center, 1300 biscayne boulevard, miami, fl 33132 The concert's program will be divided into two sections: the first will include overtures, dances and waltzes from franz von suppe, johannes brahms, jules massenet and ambrose thomas, and the second part will include pieces from johann strauss. as with the annual vienna concert, the event will also include encore performances, including the radetzky march, written by johann strauss.
it was first played for austrian soldiers in 1848, who stomped their feet and clapped their hands when the chorus was played, and the miso performance will be no different. conductor eduardo marturet will lead the audience to join in clapping and stomping their feet in time to the music.
If you can't wait until sunday to see the performance, come to aventura mall's center court on saturday, january 16 from 12-3pm for a free open rehearsal of the entire concert, sponsored by mercantil commercebank. a q&a session will follow the performance, where mall patrons and music students can ask miso's music director and conductor eduardo marturet any questions that they may have. patrons will also have the chance to win two tickets to the upcoming miso event of their choice. for more information about an evening in vienna, please visit www.themiso.org or to purchase tickets, please visit www.arshtcenter.org. to sign up for miso's email list to be notified of upcoming events and promotions,
